Tiny Hand With Red Heart

Oh, those little things.

When you start to like someone, even if you deny it, your overall perspective of them gradually changes. You try to pick out the things that you like about them and the pay attention good qualities that they have instead of the bad, and you have this tendency to  overlook their flaws and shortcomings. Right?

You start to notice even the littlest things (the simplest details of their clothes doesn’t go unnoticed, the way they smile, the way they flip their hair, the way they fidget on their seats, their mannerisms, or even the way they call your name start to become a constant sound in your ears). Those little conversations or the petty fights start to take part in your daily activities, that you find yourself enjoying those moments.

You find yourself having a re-run of the moments you have together, wanting more of those moments. And sometimes, you even start wanting to include them in your plans about the future.

Just by hearing their names makes your heart beat a little faster than it normally does, and make you feel like there are butterflies in your stomach.

No matter what opinion that others may have on them, and no matter what imperfections they have, you accept them as they are, knowing that nobody is perfect and that these little things are part of the overall reason why you start liking them in the first place. That these little things add up to their total personality and for the time being, they will be the best out of everybody.

It’s like, the more you like them, the better looking they get. :)

Test-Taking Strategies. 惄

Ayun. Nag-start na din ang Enhancement/Review Classes namin ngayong second semester in prep for the Boards next year. Yung feeling na nakaka-excite na nakakatakot na nakakamotivate? Alam niyo yun? Mixed emotions lang ang peg. Basta kasi ganun. Nakakaexcite kasi onting panahon na lang ggraduate na kami, nakakatakot kasi sabi nga nila, “You’ll be facing the real world" na, mas mahirap na, pero nakakamotivate kasi halos lahat ng nasa paligid mo e optimistic sa lahat ng bagay. Mas nakakagana pumasok araw-araw, mas nakakainspire mag-aral pa ng mabuti.

Anyway, share ko lang yung natutunan ko sa topic namin ngayong araw sa enhancement, for future reference and sana makatulong din sa iba na makakabasa nito. :)

TEST-TAKING SKILLS/ STRATEGIES.

My version of what I have learned last Friday. I hope this helps.
Applicable to multiple-choice questions.

✔ WORD OF THE DAY: “REWORD!"
★ Formulate the question in your own words!
You have to always remember the word, “REWORD". No matter how long the question is, you have to read it from the first to the very last word—do not skim or read to quickly. (Because, admit it or not, we all have the tendency to skim and read quickly once we see a loooong question, isn’t it?)
★ Eliminate only what you think is WRONG.
Stay focused on the REWORDed question and not on the background info. Usually, pag multiple choice question, maganda yung strategy na elimination. After mo basahin yung question, isa-isahin mo naman yung choices. For example, habang binabasa mo yung letter A na choice, i-cover mo yung B, C and D. After reading letter A, you have to decide whether to eliminate it if it’s wrong or leave it as a choice. And then, if ever you decide to eliminate it, WAG MO NA BALIKAN. If you know for yourself that the one you eliminated is a wrong answer, resist the impulse to go over it again.
★ DON’T predict answers upon reading the question!
While reading the question, prevent yourself from predicting answers even before finishing. Kasi may tendency tayo na habang binabasa palang yung question, may naf-formulate na agad na sagot sa isip natin (knowingly or unknowingly). What if may na-formulate ka ng sagot pagkatapos mo basahin yung tanong, pero pagtingin mo sa choices, wala naman dun yung na-predict mo? Malilito ka lang.
★ If clueless about what the question is really asking for, take a deep breath. Don’t panic. Read answer choices to get clues.
Noooo. Never skip a question.  Resist the impulse to read and re-read the question. Mas matatagalan ka lang. Instead, you can look up the choices and maybe get some clues there. Once na makakuha ka na ng clues, then go back to REWORDING the question using the clues.

So there, sana makatulong din sa mga makakabasa neto. ćƒ„

A nice story. :)

There was this quiz given to 200 applicants applying for a job. The situation was like this:
You’re driving a car in a wild, stormy night, you passed by a bus stop where you saw 3 people waiting..

  1. An old lady who’s about to die
  2. An old friend who once saved your life
  3. The perfect mate that you’ve been dreaming of
Who would you choose? Knowing that there could only be one passenger in your car?
The answer of the one who was hired:
I’ll give my car keys to my old friend and let him/her take the old woman to the hospital. Then, I would stay behind and wait for the bus with the person that I’ve been dreaming of. :)

Awweee. :"> Nice catch. :D Goodevening!

Basic Life Support Training [Late Post] :)

I know this might be a very late post about the training last week, but still..
The Basic Life Support Training (October 8-12, 2012) had been a great experience for me. From the first to the very last day, I have learned a lot, not only intellectually, but also physically and emotionally as well. Despite the body and muscle pains, wet/dirty look, bloody look, waking up early for 5 straight days, 7am call time, push-ups, punishments as consequences for being late, all the pains were worth it.  I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world. The past week was definitely one of the highlights for this year and my whole college life. This training has trained us not only to be disciplined responders but also made us realize the value of time, cooperation, team work, and how to be flexible responders in times of emergency.

I’d take this opportunity to write down this appreciation post for all the things I realized and appreciated for the past week.
  • First, thank you to sir Garry for making the training possible. Excited na kami nun even before October. Thank you po, along with the other trainors (Sir  Llana, sir Ross, sir Joyce, Mam Lanie, Sir Kisam, and sa iba po) for your support and patience during the week. You never fail to motivate us to do more, to try things we haven’t even tried doing, to always give our best and what it takes to perform well in emergencies. From Bandaging, CPR to Extrication to Planning and Responding to a Mass Casualty Incident to Rappelling—for the overall experience. Once in a lifetime po yun and we will be forever thankful for that.
  • OTZU Group—- BEST TEAM EVAAAAAAH! :D
Sobrang na-appreciate ko ang group namin for this past week.
Hehe. :D Parang camp lang natin nun yung CSC office. :P Thank you kasi kahit alam ko pagod na pagod ka na on certain days last week, still, you always have that smiling look on your face sa tuwing may itatanong ako.Faye- Thank you sa pang-aasar after nung Hard MCI! Haha!:P But srsly, thank you kase isa ka sa mga nagpapatawa sa group natin, kayo nina Kaye at Bruce.
Roughly, these are what I get to experience this past week that I know I will miss after my grad on April. :( :
  • Experienced an exercise on Mass Casualty Incident, where I acted as a patient on our first try on Soft MCI. :D
  • Danced in front of the whole 4thyear. Haha. Wala ng hiya hiya.
  • GROUP 8- BEST TEAM EVAAAAAAAAH. :)
  • CPR and kissing buddies. In just a matter of a few hours, my first, second, third and fourth kisses are gone. Haha! First kiss: adult dummy, Second kiss: infant dummy, Third kiss: child dummy, fourth kiss: adult dummy again. XD
Sabi nila, ang first kiss ay nakalaan para sa taong gusto mo. Pero bakit ikaw pa? Bakit pati first, second, third and fourth kiss ko pa? T_T

Hahaha! :)) Kissing-dummies on our BLS Training. :PĀ
  • Planning for Mass Casualty Incident

  • Tried and experienced rapelling. Practice at first. But it was hella scaaary too, though it’s just on the stairs of our grandstand.
  • Got to experience being a patient on a mass casualty incident. This time, hard MCI already. And the situation was bombing. :D Cooooool. I got to experience having a stabbed/penetrated wound on my left shoulder + eviscerated wound on stomach + open wound on forehead..—-The props for the blood are so coooooool, they looked almost the same as real blood. :/

A trillion of thanks wouldn’t be enough to show how much we are thankful to have you as our mentors. indeed, a teacher affects eternity, for they never know how much influence they can impart on a student. kudos sir! :)

It’s not always the mind that DOES decide, right? Sometimes, some things are really not meant to happen. Some people are really not destined to remain by your side for as long as you want them to. People forget. Things change. Feelings change. Memories fade.

You just have to wait and see what tomorrow has in store for you.

Don’t forget this : "The more time you spend with the wrong people actually means that you get lesser time away from the right ones." Remember. No matter how unfair this world is, there are still people who will end up sticking with you no matter what.

So, choosing now on who you’ll keep and who you’ll let go is never too late. Who knows? What you experience now might just be a rehearsal for a subsequent event in the future…

If I Had You.

Now reading (AGAIN): IF I HAD YOU by Lyn Kurland. :)

(One of my favorite novels, been reading this for 4 times already, but I never get tired reading most of the lines. :D)

Why he was so bloody nervous was something he couldn’t answer. It wasn’t as if he were seeking an audience with the queen. This was merely Anne of Fenwyck, the pale-haired girl who had grown to maturity in his home, who had been so painfully shy that he’d hardly noticed her. He groaned as he slammed the hall door shut behind him. When had he become such a liar?—Robin de Piaget, (If I Had You by Lyn Kurland)

Looks can be deceiving.

Being beautiful/handsome doesn’t give a person any right to act like a bitch/jerk.

So what if you’ve got the looks that could launch a thousand ships? So what if you’ve got the smile that everyone would fall for? It does not give you any right to disrespect others and act as if you’re mighty awesome. That everyone would heed to your every want. That you can go around telling stories behind other people’s backs.

You can call yourself good-looking, but looks is not the only thing that matters. At the end of the day, you’ll have to remember that in time, looks will fade; but your attitude towards other people and the way you’ve made them feel will always be remembered.

You can fool others with your smile. You can act nice in front of others.

BUT YOU CAN NEVER DECEIVE ME.

S-O-R-R-Y

Sorry.

Tumblr_m317zl3nx01qmrbuso1_500_large_large

One of the overused and misused word in the dictionary. Why?

  • Because it gives the impression that with this single word, everything will be fine.
  • That one word can erase what you have done, what you have said, how you made them feel. as if it’s as easy as counting 1,2,3.
  • That SORRY is like a magic word?
  • That saying sorry could make everything go back to the way it was before?
  • That sorry is enough to wash away the pain?
How come people think that one SORRY could fix everything? Fvck. That’s why people think that they can use the word SORRY ever so lightly and so easily. That’s why the true essence of saying SORRY is slowly fading; the reason why, people who don’t value the true meaning of forgiveness repeat the same mistakes all over again. It doesn’t even change the fact that something has changed and that saying sorry is just a move to make it seem like you regret what happened.

But whatever the situation may be, you should always think before you act, think before you speak, before its too late.

Remember, it takes time to build someone’s trust—but a few seconds to ruin it, not even SORRY could be an assurance as to whether trust would ever be granted to you again.

Everyone wants to find that someone…

Everyone wants to find that someone…
  • someone who will prove to you that not all person are like the ones you’ve met on the past
  • who will stay
  • who will take you seriously
  • someone who will never leave you hanging
  • someone who will appreciate you
Tumblr_lzt5bkubyo1qcqbdbo1_500_large
You know what? At some point in your life, you’ve probably met THAT someone, who’s willing to be the person you mentioned above-- but you probably haven’t noticed. Why? Because you’re too busy trying to get the attention of another person. Because, admit it or not, even from the start, you already made an ideal figure as to what qualities your special someone would have, that’s why even if there’s someone out there doing his/her best to try to let you notice, you wouldn’t even notice their feelings. And it all goes down to this single line, “We accept the love we think we deserve.”

That’s what usually happens, right? Think of it this way, somebody likes you but you don’t feel the same way for that person, nothing feels right and you just can’t find within yourself the courage to accept the love that person is offering you because a tiny part in your mind tells you that you deserve another. You think you deserve the love of someone else, most probably the one you like, right? That’s why you ignore him/her. Whatever effort he/she exerts, you don’t notice, or maybe you’ve noticed, but you were busy trying to get the attention of another person that’s why you were not moved by his/her gestures. But don’t you realize that what you are doing is just the same as to what he/she is doing? You try your hardest just to be noticed by the one you like/love. Because you think that it’s their love that you deserve. Sometimes we confuse love with being addicted to the exquisite pain of wanting someone so unattainable.

Don’t wait too long. Because waiting is never really an assurance. It’s only a chance..

Waiting is never an assurance as to whether you two are going to end up together. You think that by waiting, you actually get a bigger chance of ending up with him/her? Maybe yes. But for the most of it, waiting only means that you are being given the chance to wait for that person to realize whether or not he/she would learn to feel the same way as you feel for them.  If you always wait, you might end up alone, waiting for that someone who won’t even notice you, when in fact, you can create a happy ending and be with that person who actually cares.
